教育的国际化:澳大利亚和香港的教育机构联合办学的调查报告

Students'experiences of studying Australian courses in Hong Kong

澳大利亚的大学与香港及巴布亚新几内亚两地的教育机构结为合作伙伴,在这两个地区开办澳大利亚的大学课程。本作者获澳大利亚研究理事会的资助,对这类国际间的教育合作进行调查研究,其研究题目为“澳大利亚远程教育在香港及巴布亚新几内亚的实施:教育国际化的研究”。本项调查始于1999年,结束于2002年7月,采用访谈、观察及文件收集和分析等质的研究方法,对澳大利亚的大学在香港开展的联合办学进行案例跟踪调查。本文以具有激烈的国际竞争的香港教育市场为背景,澳大利亚教育机构与香港教育机构联合开设的专业课程为研究内容,探讨香港学习者在本地学习澳大利亚的课程的看法和体会,以及对国外的联合课程进行评价。本文从三个方面汇报研究的结果:香港学生选择澳大利亚课程的原因;学生对澳大利亚和香港本地教师的看法;学生对澳大利亚的课程、教学法及评价方法的理解及适应。

This article reports on some research from an Australian Research Council funded project being conduct-ed by the authors into the ways in which Australian universities establish collaborations with partners in Hong Kong and Papua New Guinea to offer courses in those countries.The project is entitled,Australian distance e-ducation in Hong Kong and Papua New Guinea:an investigation of the consequences of internationalising edu-cation.The research used principally qualitative methods(interviews,observations,document collection and anal-ysis)to develop case-studies of a range of partnerships in Hong Kong.The project commenced in1999and is in its final stages.The article discusses the experiences of students who undertook courses offered in Hong Kong by Australian institutions in partnership with a local provider.The discussion shows how Hong Kong stu-dents value and interpret their engagement with Australian courses which are offered in the highly competitive international education market in Hong Kong.It presents findings on their reasons for undertaking and choosing their courses,their engagement with the Australian and local staff,and their understanding and coping with Australian curricula,pedagogies and assessment.
