This setup has very good timing response. Its rising time is just 8ns. By using β-γcoincident technique, the intensities of 7 lines following electron capture from neutrondeficient nuclides are strongly suppressed, but the detecting efficiency to the 7 lines following 100% β- decay of neutron-rich mercury nuclides arrives highly to 60%.
