中国共产党如何始终代表人民的根本利益,仍须进行不懈的理解与实践探索。必须正确认识到,人民的现实利益是人民根本利益的重要组成部分,人民的长远利益总是通过阶段性现实利益的积累而实现的。社会转轨过程中的失业问题、贫富差距问题、腐败问题、人事制度缺失问题,已严重危及人民的现实利益,必须予以充分重视。应重点做好三大工作:从严治党以保证党的代表性;建立健全社会保障体系以维护人民的现实利益;建立公正的人事制度以保证人的全面发展。

How should the Communist Party of Chi na always represent the fundamental interests of the Chinese people?Thi s problem calls for unremitting explo rations through theory and practice.We must be fully aware that the practical interests of the people are an important part of the peoples fundamental interests.At pr esent,the problems cropping up in th e process of social transition,such as unemployment,t he gap between the rich and the poor,corruption,etc,have jeopardize the practical interests of the people.To this we should pay fu ll attention.We must focus on the following three aspects of work:(1)being strirct in Party discipline to guarantee the Partys representativeness;(2)improving the social security syste m to safeguard the peoples practical interests;(3)establishing the fair personnel system to guarantee peoples all-round development.
