Being the main part of the railway transportation system、the railway electrical department guarantees normal movement of traint as well as smooth operation of various transportation tasks and management through communication and signalling equipments. With the continuous progress in science and technology, the railway communication and signalling plays more and more important role in improving safety assurance, enhancing transportation capacity and efficiency, and carrying out scientific management.This paper is presented to fully discuss tech-nical development and economic benefit of railway communication and signalling with the purpose to make railway development strategic decision more scientific and democratic, and give impetus to the modernization of railway construction as well.
