Wordsworth's concept of emotion refers to the mental achievement the author gains genuinely and naturally by intuitive thinking of the feeling born of interaction between people and external world, which has both pleasant perceptual form and deep cognitive content. It is the compound of feeling, thought and imagination in their general senses. It is not only the objective reflection of the external world, but also the subjective refraction on mind; not only the motive of writing, but also the object that literary works depict. Most past criticisms on him are misunderstandings of this concept.
