Through the approach of Archetypal Criticism, this essay concentrates on a comparative analysis of the revenge theme in Medea and Wuthering Heights. Based on detailed analyses, it puts forward the conclusion that both Heathcliffs and Medeas revenge is the result of hatred and the loss of love, which falls into the category of a tragic archetype, and that Heathcliff is just a 'displacement' of Medea.
