连贯是语篇的重要特征,对于语篇的构建具有重要作用。以语篇为翻译对象必然要考察其连贯性,语篇翻译的过程实际上就是语篇连贯的识别与重构的过程。

Textual coherence, as one of the most important characteristics of text, involves the whole text and is of great importance to textbased translation. The process of translation is in fact one of recognizing and reconstructing the textual coherence.
