A method to build curve-drawing data of project through programming in AutoLisp in AutoCAD environment with scanner and AutoCAD software was introduced. This method solved the problem how to transform the already existing experimental curve-drawing into the data files being processed by computer when using engineering CAD. And the application in mechanical CAD was examplified. This method can be used in road design to changed the contour lines and sidelines to the data files in order to use computer aided calculating and planing. Since this method generates text files, therefore the numeral method can be used for curve-drawing data in any CAD files. The program is used in AutoCAD directly. This method uses zoom function of window in AutoCAD to improve the precision of collected data. This program is already passed in AutoCAD2000.
