Parthenogenesis is a kind of reproductive mode by which the egg develops into embryo without fertilization and develops into plant finally. The advances of inducing parthenogenesis in plants, including the way of induction, affecting factors and the studies on embryology.are reported. In addition, the application of parthenogenesis in breeding is also discussed in this article.
