The book argues about the significance of philosophical thought for the study and the practice-including the teaching-of public administration(PA).PA is an interdisciplinary field,based on the conjoint application of modern sciences to the study of the administrative phenomenon.Each of these sciences has a foundation in philosophy,hence philosophical thought can and ought to be the'intellectual glue'for the coherent application of disciplinary contributions to the advancement of the study of PA.The book illustrates how a variety of philosophical thoughts can shed light on little explored aspects of contemporary PA.
