The Belt and Road Initiative in essence is China’s regional connectivity strategy. From the initiative proposed to the strategic docking between China and foreign countries to the implementation of related projects, China’s regional connectivity strategy shows a rich connotation with significant impacts. From the perspective of regional connectivity, this article will mainly analyze the Belt and Road Initiative and elaborate its essence and significance, focusing on China’s efforts to promote the regional connectivity and Chinese characteristics of the new international cooperation path. Then we will analyze the opportunities and challenges faced by regional connectivity construction, which will greatly affect the promotion and implementation of China’s initiative. We should understand and analyze the new requirements to China international initiative promoting capacity.
