The westward spread of Chinese medicine in the 17 th century has attracted the attention of the world famous scientists such as Boyle and Hooke.What kind of knowledge and technology was Chinese medicine in the vision of European scientists? Was it new or old?How did they understand the differences between Eastern and Western medicine? How did they elaborate traditional Chinese medicine within the framework of their existing knowledge?
