有一天,我在街上散步时,在地上发现了一个小包。我捡起它,打开看看能不能找到主人的名字。里面除了一些美元和一张旧照片外,什么也没有。那张照片是一位女子与一位12岁左右女孩的合影。我把照片放回去,把包拿到了警察局。在我离开之前,警察记下了我的姓名和地址。他认为失主会感谢我的。那天晚上我和我的叔叔婶婶一起吃饭。他们还请了一位年轻女子和我们共进晚餐。她的脸很熟悉,但我记不起我在哪里见过她。
When I was walking down the street one day,I found a small bag on the ground.I picked it up and opened it to see if I could fi nd out the name of the owner.There was nothing inside it except some dollars and an old photo—a picture of a woman and a young girl about twelve years old.I put the photo back and took the bag to the police station.Before I left,the policeman wrote down my name and address.He thought the owner might thank me.
