摘要 Most dog owners are convinced that theirfour-legged friends know exactly what they meanwhen they use certain words. However, researchershave always wondered whether theyreally understand human speech or if they relyon other ways to know the meaning. A new studyby scientists at Atlanta's Emory Universityseems to indicate that “man's best friend” doesknow what the owner is saying. To get data from the dogs themselves—notjust owner reports, the researchers asked theowners of twelve dogs to train their pets to identifytwo toys with different materials by name.
