There have been different opinions in academic circles about the theme of the book From Baicao Yuan to Sanwei Shuwu (From the Garden of Hundred Grasses to the Three Taste Old Style Private School). Reading the whole work, we find no difficulty to realize Writer Lu Xun's nostalgic idea, to feel his sigh over the past that was permeated out when he wrote about the Garden of Hundred Grasses, and his remembrance and respect of his teacher Mr. Shuo as revealed behind his descriptions of the life in the Three Taste Private School. The article is one of the links on the chain of Mr. Lu Xun's review of his past life. It refracts a track of Lu Xun's thought, and transmits his lonely heart and the helpless mental state of seeking quietness in turmoil during his middle age.
