Implementation of the ASN.1-IDL translator

In the telecommunication management network (TMN), information structures of managed object in Management Information Base (MIB) are described with Abstract Syntax Notation One (ASN 1). The Interface Definition Language is used to describe the objects interface in the Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA). This paper presents an ASN 1 IDL translator, e.g., an algorithm for translating the structures defined by ASN 1 into IDL codes. The first step of the algorithm is to describe the outline of the translation process, and then to realize the various types of ASN 1, and the process of translating the DEFAULT clause, OPTIONAL clause and ASN 1 recursive definition is also given.
