性别:作为文学分析的方法——评《性别视角下的中国文学与文化》及相关系列丛书

Gender as a Literary Analytical Tool:Reading Chinese Literature and Culture from a Gender Perspective and Its Related Series

文章通过对南开大学乔以钢等著的《性别视角下的中国文学与文化》以及"性别视角下的中国文学与文化丛书"的解读,认为其呈现了近年来女性/性别文学研究的一些新特点、新变化、新趋势。在理论探讨上,该系列论著对"性别"与"文学"关系的理解突破了简单的立场预设,有效融汇进了具有本土语境特点的性别文化内涵;在具体研究上,一方面该系列论著注重从纵向的历时性角度描绘中国"性别文学"的基本图景,归纳"性别文学"演进的一般规律,以呈现女性文学乃至中国文学的内在复杂性;另一方面,以文学为基本场域,从横向讨论性别与主体、阶级以及空间的关系,进而分析现代中国性别文化的价值指向。如何在"性别作为立场"与"性别作为方法"之间找到更有分寸感的平衡,进一步推动"性别文学"研究进入主流研究视野,该系列论著仍留下了需要继续探索的空间。

This paper examines Qiao Yigang et al’s Chinese Literature and Culture from a Gender Perspective and its reviews and recognizes that these have helped identified new ideas,developments and trends growing in women’s/gender literary studies. This volume and the related series have attempted,at the theoretical level,to effectively incorporate a localized gendered culture in an understanding of the relationship between gender and literature,breaking away from a simple pre-determined standpoint. At the level of research,this volume and its related series have provided an important chronological depiction of the historical development of gender and literature in China to ascertain the overall framework of its growth and reveal the innate intricacies that exist in women’s literature and even Chinese literature,at large. Moreover, this series helped identify the direction in which contemporary gender culture develops in China based on an examination of the relationship of gender and subject,class and space. While addressing the question of how to find an appropriate balance between ' gender as a standpoint' and 'gender as a tool',this series have left space for further exploration in areas of mainstreaming the gender literature studies.
