所谓“文章四友”即崔融、李峤、苏味道、杜审言 ,是活跃于武则天当政时期那一特定政治、文化情态下颇具典型意义的文人集团。本文即希图从考察“四友”其时的政治、文化氛围及诗歌自身的艺术进程出发 ,理清此四者在诗歌创作上的时代烙痕及新变质素 ,俾于初唐的诗歌发展有更清楚的了解。

This thesis observes the political climate and cultural background of the age in which 'the four literary friends' lived, and the course of the art of poetry. Then tends to find out the four's respective characteristics, the marked brand of the times their works bore, and the progress of the poetry of the early Tang Dynasty.
