摘要
对比莎士比亚的悲剧《李尔王》和巴尔扎克的长篇小说《高老头》两部作品进行比较研究 ,不难发现两部作品在故事情节和人物命运的安排上有极其相似之处 ,同样描写了父亲对女儿的深情和女儿对父亲的忤逆不孝 ;两位父亲都年老体弱 ,面对女儿们的无情无义都呼天抢地咒骂女儿 ,后来都是悲惨地死去。但由于作品所反映的历史、时代、环境以及道德规范的不同 ,两位作家在表现父女之间感情和义务的冲突这样一个共同主题时 ,又必然表现出复杂的差异。
This paper makes a comparative study of King Lear by Shakespeare and Le Pere Goriot by Balzac.It is illustrated that there are some similarities between two works in the plot and fate of characters, namely, the portrayal of profound fatherly love for daughters and the latter's disloyalty to the former. In the books, the two fathers, old and effete, scolded their daughters for their disloyalty and ended up gloomily. However, because of differences in history, epoch, situation and moral standards in respective works, there are bound to be dissimilarity in the expression of the common theme---- the conflict of emotion and obligation between father and daughter.
