Discussion on the Artistic Novelty of Opera “Han Gong Qiu"

马致远的《汉宫秋》不拘史实,通过对历史事实进行艺术加工,对"昭君和番"母题的再思考,提炼出了新的思想观念,塑造了新的人物形象,创造了新的意象和浓郁的悲剧氛围,从而具有了强烈的艺术感染力。从主题、人物形象、艺术方法三方面,分析《汉宫秋》的艺术新质及其意义。

Ma Zhiyuan's opera "Han Gong Qiu" is not limited to any historical facts. Through artistic processing of historical facts and rethinking on the motif of Zhaojun's marriage, this opera extracts new ideas and creates new characters, images and rich tragic atmosphere. Thus it has deep artistic appeal. This paper analyzes the artistic novelty of opera "Han Gong Qiu" and its implications from three aspects of theme,characters and artistic methods.
