In the speech on the centenary ceremony of Beijing Normal University on September 8,President Jiang Zemin has presented a series of discourses upon the issues about education and teachers,especially upon the educational innovation.It is the creed to direct the development of education in China in the new era.These discourses were the excellent sum-up of the history of educational development in human society,and it has been suited to the new development of our education and to the new transformation of our society.It is the neo-demand for our educators to realize the great renaissance of China in the new millennium.It is a system engineering to carry out this great plan.To promote and spur the development of our education,we must improve the quality of our teachers,and take order with various conflicts and problems in the educational development.
