根据既有的各种政治现代化模式,从动力、次序和过程三个不同的标准或视角来看,至少在理论上存在14种可能的政治现代化模式,当然,政治现代化的模式可以是多种多样的。每个国家只有选择了一条适合本国独特历史与现实发展可能性的政治现代化道路,才有可能顺利实现从传统政治体系向现代政治体系的转型。

There are theoretically at least 14 possible patterns of political modernization according to three different standards or perspectives, if we take into consideration all the patterns already in existence. Of course, patterns of political modernization may vary. Only if each state chose an appropriate approach to political modernization suited to its own special history and the possibility of its actual development can it bring about the transition from a traditional political system to a modern one.
