启蒙主义思潮和民粹主义思潮启迪制约着开明派从事文化活动的独特立场和思路。他们从理性上服膺启蒙精神 ,一生坚守启蒙主义文化岗位 ,更从情感上建立了与民粹主义的精神联系 ,从平民立场上确立了他们参与新文化建设的思路和角度 ,并规定了他们的启蒙对象和启蒙方式。

The trends of enlightenment and populism inspire and restrict the Liberal School's cultural stand and ideas. Rationally they bear in mind the enlightenment spirit and stand fast at their enlightening post all the time, but emotionally they build a spirit relation with populism. On the basis of common people, they determine their train of thought and visual field in constructing the New Culture, the objects and approaches of the enlightenment education.
