汪氏文园寻踪

Tracking Wang's Wen Garden

建于清代雍正朝的汪氏文园 ,为我国著名江南园林之一 ,乾隆拓建避暑山庄曾采为样本。汪氏系皖人 ,园林学权威陈从周认为 ,文园与水绘园中之水明楼群皆为汪氏所建 ,海内徽派园林“孤例” ,足证其艺术价值。园主爱国精神与民族操守 ,善举众多与道德厚度 ,为扬州八怪等文艺家提供优越的创作环境 。

Wang's Wen Garden, built in Qing Dynasty, is one of the most well-known gardens in the South, which was taken as a sample when Qianlong Emperor built Mountain Estate for Escaping Heat. Wang was born in An'hui. Chen Chongzhou, an expert in horticulture, believes that both Wen Garden and Shuiming Towers in Shuihui Garden were built by Wang and were unique example of An'hui gardening in China, which indicates its artistic value. Wang was a person full of patriotic spirits and national integrity. He made numerous philanthropic acts, provided a good place for artistic creation for man of letters in Yangzhou and sacrificed his life for sifting local culture.
