现代性批判与超越的尝试——评胡国亨对西方文化的批判

An Attempt of Modern Critique and Transcendence-On Henry Woo's Critique of Contemporary Western Culture

胡国亨认为 ,当今人类面临的生存困境 ,主要是由西方智性文化及其衍生的现代化造成的。通过对西方文化的批判及对孔子思想的重新诠释 ,胡国亨提出了“大孔子学说”,藉以纾缓人类的生存危机。本文认为 ,胡国亨对西方文化的跨学科、多视角批判是理性而深刻的 ,对我们全面认识与评价西方文化及现代化有重要的意义 ,但是 ,作为一种超越现代性困境的设想 ,“大孔子学说”却陷入了以纯意向为出发点的乌托邦之中。

Henry Woo believes that the predicaments facing the modern world are largely caused by the intellect oriented culture of the West and its subsequent Modernism. Based on his criticism of the Western culture and his re interpretation of Confucianism, Mr. Woo proposes his Great Confucianism in view of solving the crises we face. The present authors hold that Mr. Woo's multi disciplinary critique of the Western culture is legitimate and well grounded but his Great Confucianism theory as a hypothesis that is intended to transcend the modern crises is apt to degenerate into utopianism.
