The progress of research and practice of hybrid一seed production in upland cot-ton was reviewed.The economical and effective preparation of hybrid一seed is a criticalstep of popularizing the hybrid vigor in field production which has been proved.Up tillnow,the breeding of hybrid cotton includes utilization of the heterosis of GMS lines,CMSlines and the F_1、F_2 progenies between cultivated varieties.The preparation of hybrld一seed is usually obtained by artificial cross and natural cross.It is a simple and a pollinafer-ous approach for hybrid一seed production that keeps a few cluster of bees.
