For a long time, that architecture is art is very common conception in our mind. However, what is the essential characteristic of art and architecture? After analyzing the essence of art and architecture, generally, comparing their differences, The article illustrates that architecture is not art though architecture has art characteristics. And it is not rigorous enough to say that architecture is art , Moreover, esthetic characteristics of architecture is also concisely explored in this dissertation.
