Freedom,Virtue and Practical Reason:the Present Relevance of the Differences between Ockham and St.Thomas

I.Presentation I intend to show to what extent,since the modem period,ethical reflection--including a great part of the Natural Law tradition--has been influenced by the thought of Ockham.I would like to focus attention on three fundamental concepts:freedom,virtue and practical reason;and to draw a comparison with Aristotilian-Thomistic thought.
