In his new book Regulation, Governance and Law: Addressing Current Challenges, Professor Colin Scott discusses the concepts and contexts of regulation, governance, regulatory governance and regulatory space, explores the role of standard-setting in regulatory regimes, and analyzes how to check the public sector via private regulation. He also analyzes the regulation transformation in the age of governance; new governance and regulatory innovation; and reflexive governance and regulatory policy learning. In addition, Professor Scott offers insights into such issues as the meta-regulation between government regulation and self-regulation, the legitimacy of global regulatory regime, and the accountability in regulation and governance. This book has made great theoretical contribution to government regulation and governance and has great implications for the reform of regulation and governance in China and for the structural transformation of Chinese administrative law as well.
