摘要
基于2007-2016年192个国家的面板数据,运用赫克曼两阶段模型实证研究了留学生教育对中国引入外资的作用。结果显示,来华留学生规模增加显著地促进了中国吸引外资流入,但是对外资流入的促进作用随着时间的推移呈现递减趋势。此外,不同教育类别的留学生规模对中国吸引外资的作用不同,学历留学生教育发挥的边际影响明显高于非学历留学生教育。
The paper expanded the research of international education in the field of international investment by exploring the role of international education in China’ s attracting foreign direct investment. Based on the panel data of 192 countries during the period from 2007 to 2016,we set up a Heckman two-stage model and empirically tested the impact of international education on FDI inflows in China. The results showed that international education had a statistically positive but ever-decreasing effect on China’ s FDI inflows. Besides,different types of international education had a varying effect on FDI inflows. Education of degree programs produced a higher marginal effect than education of non-degree programs did.
