Connection Between Yin and Yang and Redemption: the View of Spirit and Bridging Ritual of Dong People

在侗族社会,桥梁扮演着非常重要的角色,不仅作为村落空间的界限,成为民族旅游和文化遗产的符号,桥梁的建造还与侗族人基于功德观的公益事业息息相关。然而,除了具象的桥,他们还传承着架桥的仪式。通过侗族的架桥习俗,考察与此相关的侗族的灵魂观念及桥对于他们而言的象征意义。作为研究对象的桥,不是公共建筑的桥梁,而是出生仪式与疾病治疗之际,围绕生活者所操办的与“架桥”所关涉的仪式的空间。

Bridges playvery crucial role in the societies of Dong people.As the boundary among villages,the bridge becomes the symbol of ethnic traveling and cultural heritage,which also is related to the public charity of Dong people based on the view of merits.However,besides the concrete bridges,Dong people also carry on the traditional ceremony of“bridging”.Based on the custom of“bridging”of Dong people,the view of spirit and the symbolic significance of bridge were investigated.Additionally,the bridge in the present study was not meant to the public building,but the space related to bridging rituals which are always held for birth,illness,and things in daily lives.
