闲居田园诗指以田庄别业即谢朓在宣城郡内所置宅院为空间场景,以田园风光和“高斋”日常生活为题材,以士人为主要人物形象,以吏隐为基本主题的诗歌。谢朓的闲居田园诗传达了栖隐、闲适、望乡的思想情蕴,体现了写景的空间构造手法、平旷萧散的诗歌审美风格、语言的形式美等多种艺术特色。其诗在用词和句式及诗歌表达的主题方面对陶渊明田园诗也有所接受和继承,在遣词造句和写景的手法两个方面对山水田园诗派的王维的诗歌也有所影响。
