摘要 This paper will explore the narrative techniques of Wuthering Heights,as well as their artistic functions. With the arrival of the twentieth century, people become more aware of the artistic value of this novel, especially its narrative characteristics. However, the previous researches largely focus on its gothic themes, characters, translations, and narrative features. But the study on the narrative techniques is not adequate. This paper will discuss the narrative techniques and their effects in three facets:narrative perspective, narrative structure, narrative time and space.Comparative analytical method, material analytical method and descriptive method will be used together to explore Emily’s narrative techniques in Wuthering Heights. This paper will finally conclude that the application of these narrative techniques gives readers a different and special experience of reading and greatly enhances the artistic charm of the novel, which is full of mystery, peculiarity, and intensity.
