A Study on Figurative Words and the Metaphor Meaning of Words

比喻词语和词的比喻义是汉语语言研究中两个不同的概念,人们在语言交际过程中更多的是凭借语感和已有知识的筛选对词语进行选择,有些学者认为,一些有比喻义的词也可以归入比喻词语中。通过对比喻词语进行明确的定义和种类划分,并与词的比喻义进行区分,认为比喻词语和词的比喻义是两个不同质的概念。前者属于词汇学的研究,后者属于语义学的研究,两者之间有明确的界限,相互之间不可转化。

Figurative words and the metaphor meaning of words are two different concepts in the study of Chinese Language,people tend to rely on language intuition and existing knowledge to select words in interpersonal communication.Some scholars believe that some words with metaphor meaning can also be categorized into Figurative Words.This paper separately expound figurative words and the metaphor meaning of words,to clarify the definition and classification of figurative words,and to distinguish figurative words with the metaphor meaning words,which in turn draws the conclusion that figurative words and the metaphor meaning of words have essential difference in concept.The former concept belongs to the study of vocabulary while the next concept belongs to the study of semantics.There are clear boundaries between these two concepts and they are not convertible.
