Developing College Students’ Critical Thinking Abilities through Literary Texts

我国大学生思辨能力总体较为欠缺,因此培养学生的思辨能力成为我国高等教育的核心任务之一,也是大学英语教学的重要研究课题.文学语篇是培养思辨能力的有效工具和资源,文学有助于开阔视野,让学生质疑、解读、联系和探索.在阅读文学语篇过程中,学习者需要做出判断和决定,形成结论,综合分析信息,组织、评估、预测和应用知识,从而提高自己的思辨能力.

Chinese college students generally lack critical thinking abilities,so it,sa key task to cultivate them in this field,which is also a major research project of college English teaching.Literature as a useful resource and an effective tool to develop critical thinking abilities can help widen students' views,letting students question,understand,connect and explore.During this process students need to make their own judgments and conclusions based on serious reasoning,hence improving their critical thinking abilities.
