Review of Geography of the Eastern Han Dynasty in nearly 4 Decades

近四十年来,东汉政区地理研究可分为两方面:一是通代整体研究,即着重于东汉一朝的州制变化、政区沿革及有关郡国县邑数目考证等方面;二是具体地望考释方面,即对某一政区的某一郡县治所今址的考证,成果颇丰。不管是整体性的研究还是局部的探微,都有力地推动了东汉政区地理研究的细化与深入。但也存在着一些不足,如经世致用的价值理念不强,研究成果没有被综合利用;研究层面较为局限;研究的区域选择性也较为明显等。

For the recent 40 years,the research of political geography in the eastern Han Dynasty can be divided into two aspects.One is based on the eastern Han Dynasty,which focuses on the changes of the state system in this dynasty,the evolution of political areas and the textual research on the number of counties and the towns of country.The second is the specific examination and interpretation,namely the textual research on the current site of a certain county administration office in a certain political district,the research got rich results which gives a strong impetus to the study of political geography in the Eastern Han Dynasty.Whether it is the study of integrity or local agent,has vigorously promoted the details and in-depth of the Eastern Han Dynasty political geography research.However,there also remain some deficiencies as:the value concept of practical use is not strong,the research results had not been comprehensively used,limited level in research,the regional selectivity is also obvious,etc.
