Cognitive Frame Theory and Semantic Field:Expansion Strategies in English Writing

认知框架与语言体系之间相互联系、相互激活。认知框架激活语言系统,使说话人以适当的语言形式表征认知图式;而语言系统也激活认知框架、拓展新的认知框架,由此拓宽语言使用者的思路。利用认知与语言之间的复杂关系,探讨基于语义关系的延展,促成英语写作者掌握一种直观拓展写作思维广度和深度的手段,以期帮助英语写作者解决其不能“写深”“写广”的问题。

Cognitive frames and language interact and invoke each other.Cognitive frames activate the linguistic system and enable speakers to represent cognitive schemas in appropriate linguistic forms,while linguistic systems conjure cognitive frames and bring into being new cognitive frames,thereby broadening the thinking map of language users.By exploring the complex relationship between cognition and language,esp.linguistic expansion,this paper attempts to enable writers to grasp a means of expanding the breadth and depth of English writings,so as to help them with their incompetence in"deep writing"and"broad writing".
