摘要
著名作家川端康成的早期代表作《伊豆舞女》中运用了大量的拟声词拟态词,这不仅使人物活动更加生动,人物心理更加细腻,对于其他事物的修饰也更加真实。文章选取被广大中国读者熟知的林少华译本和叶渭渠译本,根据拟声词拟态词的功能分类和翻译形式对其中的拟声词拟态词部分的翻译优劣进行评析,探讨两位译者的翻译特点。经分析,林少华译者倾向于直译,译文主要体现了拟声词拟态词的音声化效果和形象化效果,多采用了译文原文完全对应的翻译形式;而叶渭渠译者侧重于意译,译文主要体现了感情化效果,多采用译文原文部分对应或无对应的翻译形式。这体现了拟声词拟态词在传达文章深层意义方面的重要性以及它在翻译中的不同策略。
The famous writer Yasunari Kawabata’s early masterpiece“The Dancing Girl of Izu”uses a large number of onomatopoeia and mimetic words,which not only makes the character’s activities more vivid,the character’s psychology more exquisite,but also makes the embellishment of other things more real.This paper selects Lin Shaohua and Ye Weiqu’s translation versions,which are well known to Chinese readers,to evaluate the translation of the onomatopoeia and mimetic words according to their functional classification and translation forms,and explore the two translators’translation characteristics.Lin Shaohua’s translation prefers literal translation,which mainly reflects the sound and visualization effect of onomatopoeia and mimetic words,and mostly adopts the translation form corresponding to the original text.While Ye Weiqu’s translation focuses on liberal translation,which mainly reflects the emotional effect by adopting translation forms of partial correspondence and the non-correspondence to the original text.This reflects the importance of the onomatopoeia and mimetic words in conveying the deep meaning of the article and its different strategies in translation.
