能力导向的语类教学法实施路径研究

A Study on the Practice of Ability-oriented Genre Pedagogy

语类能力表现为特定语境下“以言行事”的能力。大多高校英语教学没有把语类能力作为考量语言应用能力的标准,国内有关语类能力培养的理论与实践研究也很鲜见。文章首先阐述SFL和ESP领域两种语类教学法的实践情况,分析二者的优势与局限。然后以SFL语类教学体系为框架,综合SFL“语言—功能”和ESP“修辞—语言”的语类分析模式,构建能力导向的语类教学法,并详细说明实施流程和教学活动。相比以往语类教学法,能力导向的语类教学法具有更宽阔的语类分析视角,强调语类建构和解构并重,强调课堂—网络教学一体化而不仅限于课堂教学,强调不同课程之间语类教学的对接与循环而不仅限于读写教学。

Genre competence is represented by the ability to“do things with words”in a particular context.It has not been used as a key criterion in many universities in China to evaluate English language competence,and research into developing genre competence is still rare.This paper begins with an introduction to the advantages and limitations of two genre pedagogies proposed separately by SFL Sydney School and ESP educators.Combing functional and rhetorical linguistics discourse analysis adopted in the two pedagogies,and using SFL pedagogy as the framework,it constructs an ability-oriented genre pedagogy with detailed implementation process and teaching activities.Compared with the traditional genre-based pedagogies,ability-oriented genre pedagogy has broader perspective of genre analysis,which emphasizes the importance of both genre construction and deconstruction,the connection of online and classroom instruction,as well as the connection of genre study among various courses instead of genre pedagogy only in writing class.
