In the nearly centennial course for the Communist Party of China to form and develop its political character,Mao Zedong undoubtedly plays an innovative and founding role.In the new era,on the basis of inheritance of and persistence to Mao Zedong’s political character,according to the changes of the Party’s historical orientation,historical mission,and historical tasks,aiming at new situations and new issues appeared in Party building,General Secretary Xi Jinping creatively enriches and develops the political character of Mao Zedong,provides it new contents and values,discovers its contemporary entrance to the stage,and activates its theoretical vitality.The shift from“altruism”to“selflessness”is realized in the dimension of intrinsic personality of political character.The shift from“criticism and self-criticism”to“self-reform”is realized from the dimension of intrinsic transcendence of political character.The shift from adherence to communist ideal to remaining true to original aspiration is realized in the dimension of the soul of political character.Xi Jinping’s political character is the political virtue and behavioral principle that must be upheld by all Chinese communists in the new era.
