孔府素有“天下第一家”之称,孔氏家谱是中国历史上持续时间最长、内容最丰富、谱系最完整的家谱。《孔氏祖庭广记》是中国历史上第一部孔氏族谱,51代衍圣公孔元措于金正大四年(1227)完成,共十二卷。该书完整记载了关于孔子及其后代的史事、追崇圣号、世系次序、旧事旧诏、庙中古迹、碑刻铭文等等,其中保留着大量现今已经亡佚的珍贵记录,是中古时期研究孔氏宗族的宝贵史料,具有极高的史学价值。
