The hepatokine Gpnmb exacerbates diet-induced obesity and insulin resistance by stimulating lipogenesis in white adipose tissue

With the support by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Ministry of Science and Technology of China,the research team led by Prof.Song BaoLiang(宋保亮)at the College of Life Sciences,Wuhan University,identified glycoprotein non-metastatic melanoma protein B(Gpnmb)as a liver-secreted factor that promotes lipogenesis in white adipose tissue(WAT),which was published in Nature Metabolism(2019,1:570-583).
