With the rapid development of economy and society,the requirement for urban construction has been constantly improved.Urban planning and design is an important basis to ensure the rational development of the city and give full play to local characteristics.In the process of urban planning and design,the promotion and application of various elements and systems should be strengthened,and the local characteristics should be fully displayed,so as to better promote the level of urban construction.This paper summarizes the urban characteristics and planing and design methods,analyses the planning and design methods with urban characteristics,and explores the role of urban planning and design methods in the construction of urban characteristics.
