This paper briefly introduces the 0.4 kV power supply and distribution system and its standby self-switching device for the ship-lift compartment of the Three Gorges Project,and analyses the advantages and disadvantages of the standby self-switching device under three working modes under different working conditions,so as to provide security assurance for normal work of the 0.4 kV power supply and distribution system of the ship-lift compartment of the Three Gorges Project as well as the smooth operation of the ship lift.
