VALUE RATIONALITY OF PEOPLE’S DEMOCRACY: STRUCTURE, CONNOTATION AND FUNCTION

民主的价值理性是对于民主理想、观念、原则、目标、意义的应然设定和价值判断。人民民主是中国特色的民主,人民民主的价值理性由普适性价值理念与中国独特性价值原则构成,是一套融民主理论与现实政治利益考量于一体的价值理性系统。人民民主的价值理性具有丰富内涵:尊重和保障人权是人民民主的基本信条,实现人民自由和人民平等是人民民主的基本目标,法治精神是人民民主的实质精髓,公正是人民民主的内在价值要求,人民当家作主是人民民主的实质内容,社会主义是人民民主的根本性质,共产党领导是人民民主的政治原则。这种价值理性对于我国人民民主建设和中国特色社会主义事业发展具有价值导向、价值激励和价值规范功能。

The value rationality of democracy is the presupposition and value judgment of democratic ideal, principle, goal and meaning. People’s democracy is a democracy with Chinese characteristics. The value rationality of people’s democracy is composed of the universal value concept and the special value principle of China. It is a value rationality system that integrates Abstract democratic theory with the needs of realistic political interests. The value rationality of people’s democracy has rich connotations: Respecting and guaranteeing human rights are the basic tenets of people’s democracy, the realization of people’s freedom and equality is the basic goal of people’s democracy. The spirit of rule of law is the essence of people’s democracy. Justice is the intrinsic value requirement of people’s democracy. The essence of people’s democracy is that the people are the masters of the country. Socialism is the fundamental nature of people’s democracy, leadership of the CPC is the political principle of people’s democracy. This value rationality has the function of value orientation, value incentive and value criterion for the people’s democratic construction and the development of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
