In the collection of Yulin Museum, there are two pieces of inscribed pictorial stones of the Eastern Han Dynasty, the inscriptions of which are“Laoling Xiang Ren Jun(Master Ren,the administrator of the Laoling Marquisate)”and“Renmin diandao xiang shi(the people are fugitive and eating each other)”.The recombining attempt proved that they have ever belonged to a pillar of a pictorial stone tomb. The restored inscription contains important information such as exact reign period names and historical events, which provided valuable materials for the exploration of the famine which occurred in Bingzhou Region causing“the people eating each other”in the third year of Yongchu reign period(109 AD).The recombining of the two pictorial stones and the interpretation of their inscriptions not only supplemented the history but also revealed the funeral views of the people of the Han Dynasty;furthermore, this work also provided a referable example for the preservation and restoration of the similar historical and cultural heritages.
