东吴大学民国时期及在台“复校”后的通识教育 被引量:1

General Education of Soochow University in the Period of Republic of China and After its Renewal in Taiwan

摘要 以东吴大学为个案,从“通识教育”的视角考察在台“复校”大学与民国时期大学精神的延续与发展问题。在台“复校”后,东吴大学通识教育在某种程度上呈现出与民国时期一脉相承的品质,具体表现为对通识精神与校训精神的传承与延续。作为高等教育的一个精神向度,东吴大学民国时期所推行的以人格培养、文理贯通等为特征的通才教育及在台“复校”早期呈现出的通识精神对当下教育具有重要启示意义。但在比较中也不难发现,随着高等教育“专业化”倾向的出现,台湾东吴大学通识教育在实施的过程中也出现了娱乐化、大众化等问题,从而违背了通识教育最初的“广博”“博雅”等初衷。 The paper takes Soochow University as an example,and starts from the perspective of general education to research how the universities’spirit in the republican period continued and developed in the universities’renewal in Taiwan.After its renewal in Taiwan,general education in Soochow University showed the same origins as those in the Republican Period to a certain extent.The concrete manifestation was the inheritance and continuation of the spirit of liberal study and the school motto.As a spiritual orientation of higher education,general education promoted by Soochow University in the republican period,which characterized by personality cultivation,liberal arts and sciences education,has an important enlightenment.And Soochow University’s liberal spirits that emerged on the early phase after its renewal in Taiwan also has an significant implication on the present education.However,by comparison,it is not difficult to find that with the emergence of specialization of higher education,the general education begins to be entertainment and popularity,which has violated the extensive and liberal characteristics in initial general education.
