摘要
本研究从三语学习的角度探讨了已有的维汉双语语音意识对维吾尔儿童英语语音意识发展的影响。结果显示,对于较早学习英语的维吾尔儿童,其英语语音意识的发展对母语语音依赖更大,但随着双语语音经验的增加,特别是二语学习的深入,母语语音在英语语音意识发展中的预测作用趋于式微,二语语音的预测作用则愈加突显。汉语声母意识一直是维吾尔儿童英语语音意识发展的有效预测变量;汉语声调意识在维吾尔儿童英语语音意识形成过程中有着重要的预测作用。可见,正字法和语音结构差异并不影响语音意识的跨语言迁移,结论进一步证实了三语语音习得中二语语音有着重要预测作用,语音意识是一种带有普遍性的语言认知机制。
This study attempted to explore how the existing phonological awareness in Uygur(L1)and Chinese(L2)influenced the development of Uygur children’s phonological awareness in English(L3).It was found that in the earlier stage,Uygur children relied more on L1 phonological awareness in developing their L3 phonological awareness.However,influenced by the increased bilingual phonological experiences and in-depth L2 learning,the function of L1 phonology in the development of L3 phonological awareness declined whereas the role of L2 phonology became more salient.L2 initial consonant awareness remained a stable and significant predictor for the development of L3 phonological awareness,and L2 tone awareness played an important role in shaping L3 phonological awareness.It was,then,concluded that differences in orthographical depth and phonological awareness structures hardly undermine the cross-linguistic transfer of phonological awareness.The conclusion gives further support to the predictive power of L2 phonology in L3 phonological acquisition and the opinion that phonological awareness is a unitary linguistic-cognitive mechanism.
