objective: to study the effect of continuous nursing for elderly stroke patients. Methods: from March 2017 to April 2018, 48 cases of elderly strokepatients in anqing city hospital were selected as the study subjects. They were randomly divided into observation group and control group with 24 patients in each group. After discharge from hospital, patients in the control group were routinely followed up by telephone, and patients in the observation group were given continuous nursingcare. The fugl-meyer scores, scores for compliance and MMSE scores of patients in the two groups were then compared. Results: 1) 1 day before discharge, the fugl-meyerscore of the two groups was 0.05. At 1 week, 1 month and 2 months after discharge, the fugl-meyer score of the observation group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.01). 2) the scores of patients in the observation group on timely medication, reasonable diet, scientific exercise and timely return visit compliance were all higherthan those in the control group, P<0.01.3) 1 day before discharge and 1 month after discharge, the MMSE score of the two groups was 0.05. At 3, 6 and 12 months afterdischarge, MMSE scores in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: continuous nursing for elderly stroke patients cansignificantly improve their motor function and cognitive function, and improve their compliance with treatment and nursing.
