摘要
马哈福兹自1988年获得诺贝尔文学奖后,其作品在阿拉伯世界乃至全球受到了极大的关注。中国大多数学者集中于研究“开罗三部曲”(《宫间街》《思宫街》《甘露街》)、《我们街区的孩子们》等作品。本篇文章则聚焦于马哈福兹的现实主义开篇之作——《新开罗》。作为马哈福兹早期三部历史题材小说后的首部转型作品,《新开罗》向大众展示了20世纪四五十年代埃及社会的畸形面貌,塑造了境遇不同但都不可避免地陷入史诗性悲剧的人物形象,描绘了一幅极具代表性的“名利场”图景,并对畸形社会的种种表现做出了相应的批判。
Since Naguib Mahfouz won Nobel Prize in literature in 1988,his works have received enormous attention in the arab world and even in the whole world,but most Chinese scholars concentrate on the study of“Cairo trilogy”(Palace Walk,Palace of Desire,Sugar Street)and Children of Gebelawi and so on.But in this article I will talk about New Cairo which is Mahfouz's first realistic novel.As a transitional work after his three historic novels in the early stage,Mahfouz showed people the deformed features of Egyptian society in the forties and the fifties of the 20th century,shaped many characters who experienced different situations but inevitably ended up with epic Egyptian tragedy and described a representative image of the vanity fair and criticized various manifestations of the deformed society.
